Headings offers a highly realistic Air Traffic Control (ATC) radar simulation experience tailored specifically for iPhone and iPad users. This application caters to a wide range of skill levels, from beginners to experienced ATC operators, providing various modes to facilitate learning and skill development.

Users can explore essential ATC techniques and tools, such as vectoring, speed control, and aircraft performance. One standout feature is the inclusion of a Eurocontrol FEAST-II part 2 training mode, which emphasizes the ability to estimate headings visually while managing multiple aircraft—an essential skill in air traffic control.

The app allows users to refine their skills and engage in competitive play through a leaderboard system, enabling users to benchmark their performance against real Air Traffic Control Officers (ATCOs). Current scenarios feature major international airports, including Dubai International, JFK (New York), Heathrow (London), Zaventem (Brussels), Schiphol (Amsterdam), Rome (Fiumicino), and New Delhi (Indira Gandhi), complete with actual aircraft callsigns and types. Users can also select custom runway directions for focused training sessions.

With six difficulty levels per scenario, players can gradually acclimate to varying airspace complexities while honing specific traffic management strategies. The extreme traffic mode simulates the high-pressure environment faced by ATCOs, providing an intense training experience. Valid ATCOs are encouraged to include their four-letter Unit identifier in their GameCenter name for leaderboard recognition.

This application is the result of a dedicated single-person project and is offered as an ad-free experience with a one-time purchase. An iPad version with enhanced features such as advanced Pencil support and expanded airspace coverage is in development and will be available for free to existing users.
